Description
Seafood Mac and Cheese is a creamy, cheesy comfort dish filled with shrimp, crab, and a rich three-cheese sauce. Topped with crispy panko, it’s a baked favorite the whole family will love.
Ingredients

1 lb elbow macaroni

8 oz cooked shrimp, chopped

8 oz lump crab meat

6 Tbsp unsalted butter (divided)

ยฝ cup panko breadcrumbs

ยฝ medium onion, chopped

2 tsp minced garlic

2ยฝ cups milk

ยฝ cup heavy cream

โ cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp Old Bay seasoning

Pinch of nutmeg

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups shredded Gruyรจre cheese

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

ยฝ tsp paprika
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Cook macaroni until al dente, drain.

Mix 2 Tbsp melted butter with panko, set aside.

Sautรฉ onion in 4 Tbsp butter until soft. Add garlic and cook 30 sec.

Stir in flour; cook 1 min. Gradually whisk in milk and cream.

Add seasonings. Whisk until sauce thickens.

Stir in cheeses until melted. Add shrimp and crab.

Combine with pasta. Pour into 9ร13 dish.

Top with breadcrumbs and bake 30 min.
Notes
Cook pasta just to al dente to avoid over-softening during baking. Use fresh shredded cheese for best melt and flavor.
