Description

Rice Krispies Treat Monsters are easy no-bake treats made with candy melts, googly eyes, and sprinkles. Theyโ€™re perfect for parties, holidays, or kid-friendly kitchen fun.

Ingredients

Scale

1 (12-ounce) bag of candy melts (any color or a mix)

16 Rice Krispies Treats (individually wrapped or homemade)

Candy eyeballs

3 teaspoons shortening or vegetable oil (optional, for smoother coating)

Colored sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with parchment paperโ€”this makes cleanup a breeze.

  • Divide your candy melts into microwaveโ€‘safe bowls: if youโ€™re using one color, split it into three portions; if using multiple, mix about one-third of each color per bowl.

  • For smoother coating, stir in 1 teaspoon of shortening or vegetable oil into each bowl of candy melts (optional).

  • Microwave each bowl in 20-second increments, stirring well for 10 seconds between intervals, until the candy melts are smooth and completely melted.

  • Remove the wrappers from your Rice Krispies Treats and set them near your dipping station.

  • Fully coat each Rice Krispies Treat in the melted candy, using a spoon to spread it and create a ragged โ€œmonster furโ€ appearance.

  • Work quicklyโ€”candy melts set fast! Press on candy eyeballs and sprinkle on colored sprinkles while the coating is still wet.

  • Place each decorated treat onto the parchmentโ€‘lined sheet pan.

  • Let them sit at room temperature until the candy coating is completely set. For the best taste and texture, enjoy these treats on the day theyโ€™re prepared.

Notes

Have your decorations ready before coatingโ€”the candy sets quickly! You can insert sticks into each treat for easier dipping and serving. Avoid refrigerating to prevent cracking.
