Description
Quick and Easy Caramel Apple Bombs are filled with diced apples, cozy spices, and gooey caramel, all wrapped in flaky croissant dough. A simple, comforting dessert ready in just 30 minutes!
Ingredients
6 diced apples
3 rolls croissant dough
½ stick unsalted butter
2 tbsp cinnamon + extra for garnish
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground allspice
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 bottle caramel sauce
(Optional) ½ cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Dice the apples into bite‑size pieces. You can peel them if you prefer; peel or no peel is up to you. (Many people like to leave the peel on for texture and color.)
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the diced apples, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and allspice. Stir and cook until the apples are soft but still hold some shape—about 5‑7 minutes. If using brown sugar, add it now and let it melt into the mixture.
- Lay out one croissant roll and flatten the dough gently. Scoop several spoonfuls of the apple‑spice mixture into the center, leaving a border around the edge to allow sealing. Drizzle caramel sauce over the apple filling.
- Take a second flattened croissant piece (or the flap from the same roll, depending on how your rolls come) and place it over the filling. Seal the edges all around. To create the “bomb” shape rather than a triangle, twist or wrap the two points/ends together to form a rounded shape. Make sure every edge is sealed so none of the filling leaks out.
- Repeat until you’ve used all the apple filling and croissant dough.
- Place them on a baking sheet (lightly greased or lined with parchment paper). Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the croissant dough is golden‑brown and puffed, and everything is cooked through.
- Once baked, remove from oven and immediately drizzle more caramel sauce on top. Sprinkle with extra cinnamon. Serve warm.
Notes
You can add brown sugar to the apple mix for more sweetness. Use tart apples like Granny Smith for best balance. Seal edges well to avoid leaks
