Description
No Bake Orange Creamsicle Pie is a light and creamy dessert made with orange gelatin, whipped topping, and a graham cracker crust. This easy 4 ingredient no bake pie is perfect for spring gatherings, summer parties, or a quick refreshing dessert.
Ingredients
1 box 3 oz orange gelatin
2โ3 cup boiling water
1 cup ice cold water
8 oz Cool Whip thawed
1 graham cracker pie crust
Mandarin orange slices optional for garnish
Instructions
- Making this pie is incredibly easy and requires only a few simple steps.
- First, place the orange gelatin powder into a large mixing bowl. Carefully pour in the boiling water. Using a whisk, stir the mixture continuously for about two minutes until the gelatin powder is completely dissolved.
- Next, pour in the ice cold water. Continue whisking the mixture until it becomes slightly frothy. The cold water helps cool the gelatin mixture quickly so it can begin to thicken.
- Gradually add the thawed whipped topping into the bowl. Gently fold and stir until the mixture becomes smooth, creamy, and a light orange color. Make sure there are no streaks of whipped topping remaining.
- Place the bowl in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. This allows the filling to thicken enough so it can easily be spooned into the pie crust.
- Once the mixture has thickened, spoon the creamy filling into the graham cracker pie crust. Use a spatula to spread the filling evenly across the crust so the surface is smooth.
- Finally, place the pie in the refrigerator and allow it to chill for at least four hours or overnight. This chilling time helps the pie fully set and develop its creamy texture.
- Before serving, garnish with mandarin orange slices if desired.
Notes
You can use any flavor of gelatin instead of orange for different variations.
Make sure the hot water is boiling so the gelatin dissolves completely.
Use very cold water for the best texture and faster thickening.
You may have extra filling if using a 9 inch crust. Store leftovers in the refrigerator and enjoy later.
