Description

Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese is a crispy, cheesy sandwich made with frozen garlic Texas toast, mozzarella, Parmesan, and pizza sauceโ€”cooked perfectly in the air fryer. Fast, flavorful, and perfect for dipping!

Ingredients

Scale

2 slices frozen garlic Texas toast

2 slices mozzarella cheese

1 tablespoon shredded Parmesan cheese

Pizza sauce, for dipping

Instructions

  • Preheat or prep air fryer. Ensure your air fryer is readyโ€”set to 380ยฐF (about 193ยฐC). No need to thaw the frozen Texas toast ahead of time.
  • First cook the garlic toast.
Place the 2 slices of frozen garlic Texas toast in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Cook at 380ยฐF for 3 minutes. This softens the center and begins crisping the surface.
  • Assemble the sandwich.
    • Remove the basket and flip one piece of garlic toast so the toasted side is now facing down.
    • On top of this flipped slice, place one slice of mozzarella cheese.
    • Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of shredded Parmesan over the mozzarella.
    • Add the second slice of mozzarella cheese over the Parmesan layer.
    • Cap it off by placing the second slice of garlic toast on top, toasted side facing up, to form a sandwich.
  • Final cook.
Slide the assembled sandwich back into the air fryer. Cook for another 3 minutes at 380ยฐF, or until the cheese is fully melted and the bread is golden and crisp.
  • Let it rest and prep dipping sauce.
Remove the sandwich from the air fryer. Let it stand for 1 to 2 minutesโ€”this helps the cheese settle so it doesnโ€™t ooze out and makes slicing easier. Meanwhile, warm up your pizza sauce: either microwave it for short bursts, stirring occasionally, or gently heat it in a small pot until itโ€™s warm to the touch.
  • Serve and enjoy!
Slice the sandwich (if desired), dip in warm pizza sauce, and dig in.

Notes

Warm pizza sauce in the microwave, stirring occasionally until heated through.

Resting the sandwich before serving helps cheese settle and improves texture.

Try with different cheeses or add-ins like pepperoni or fresh basil.
