Description

Frosted Christmas Brownies are thick, fudgy brownies topped with colorful red, green, and white frosting, then decorated with edible gold stars and pearl sprinkles. These festive treats are perfect for holiday parties, cookie swaps, or edible gifts.

Ingredients

Scale

2 boxes brownie mix or double batch homemade brownies

1โ€“3 jars white frosting

Red and green edible gel food coloring

Edible gold stars

White pearl sprinkles

Icing bags

Large star frosting tip (1M)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the brownie mix box (or follow your homemade brownie recipe if using one). Grease a 9 inch springform pan with cooking spray or oil.
  • Prepare the brownie mix by following package directions. If using two boxes or a double batch of homemade brownies, pour the batter into the prepared springform pan.
  • Bake the brownies according to the packaging instructions โ€” or bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Because the batter is thicker with a double batch, baking may take a few extra minutes.
  • Once baked, allow the brownies to cool completely. Then remove from the springform pan, and place the brownie slab onto a cutting board.
  • Cut the brownie slab into 8 large triangles. These will serve as the base shapes for your festive decorations.
  • In a small bowl, tint a portion of white frosting red using gel food coloring. In a second bowl, tint another portion green. Leave a third portion plain white. Adjust the color intensity to your preference.
  • Transfer each frosting color into separate piping bags fitted with a large star tip (like 1M).
  • Use the green frosting to pipe โ€œChristmas treeโ€ swirls onto some brownie triangles. Add white pearl sprinkles and edible gold stars to decorate the โ€œtrees.โ€
  • For other triangles, pipe red frosting to form a Santa hat shape, then add white frosting for the fur trim and pom pom. Pipe the white frosting with the star tip so it has texture and dimension.
  • Once decorated, your festive brownies are ready to serve. Enjoy these cheerful treats with friends and family.

Notes

One box works for thinner brownies; two makes them extra thick.

Baking time may increase with double batches.

Add coloring gradually to get the right shade.
