Description

Easy Peach Cobbler is a sweet and buttery Southern dessert that comes together fast with canned or fresh peaches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter

  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar, divided

  • 1 cup self-rising flour

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 1 (29-ounce) can sliced peaches in heavy syrup, undrained

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • Extra cinnamon and sugar for topping

  • Optional: vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Melt butter in a 13×9-inch dish or 10-inch skillet in the oven.

  • Mix flour and 1 cup sugar. Whisk in milk until smooth.

  • Pour batter over melted butter—do not stir.

  • Mix peaches with syrup, water, and 2 tbsp sugar. Spoon over batter. Do not stir.

  • Sprinkle with cinnamon.

  • Bake 35–40 minutes until golden and bubbly.

  • Remove and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar.

  • Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Use fresh or frozen peaches as a substitute. Gluten-free and dairy-free versions work well too. Do not stir after layering.
