Description
Christmas Crockpot Candy is the easiest slow cooker treat! Chocolate, peanuts, and sprinkles make these festive clusters perfect for the holidays.
Ingredients
Scale
2 pounds white almond bark (chopped)
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
4 ounces German sweet chocolate (chopped)
32 ounces dry roasted or cocktail peanuts
Holiday sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- If you like, lightly spray the slow cooker insert with nonstick cooking spray. This will help prevent sticking later.
- Add the chopped white almond bark, semisweet chocolate chips, and pieces of German sweet chocolate into the slow cooker.
- Place a clean, dry kitchen towel over the top of the slow cooker insert, then place the lid on over the towel. This helps absorb condensation so water doesn’t drip into your melting chocolate.
- Turn the slow cooker on to HIGH and let the chocolate mixture melt for about 1 hour.
- After 1 hour, reduce the heat to LOW and continue cooking for another hour, stirring every 15 to 20 minutes. Be gentle when stirring to help all the chocolate melt evenly and avoid scorching.
- Once everything is fully melted and glossy, carefully remove the lid and towel — be sure not to let any condensation drip into the chocolate.
- Add the peanuts, stirring thoroughly until all nuts are well coated with the melted chocolate mixture.
- Line several baking sheets with wax paper (or parchment). Use a spoon or small cookie scoop to drop moundfuls of the candy mixture onto the sheets, forming clusters.
- If you’re using holiday sprinkles, promptly sprinkle them over the clusters before the chocolate begins to set.
- Refrigerate the trays for 30 minutes to 1 hour until the candy is firm. If you don’t have room in the fridge, allow them to sit at room temperature until fully set.
- Once set, transfer the clusters into an airtight container. Store in a cool, dry place until ready to serve or gift.
Notes
All slow cookers heat differently, so monitor closely. For best texture, use a towel to prevent condensation. Store in layers separated by wax paper.
