Description
Cheesy Chicken Taco Breadsticks are a bold and easy Tex-Mex snack filled with seasoned chicken, cheddar cheese, and soft pizza dough. Perfect for game day, parties, or a fun family dinner.
Ingredients
1 cup finely shredded cooked chicken breast
2 1/2 teaspoons taco seasoning, divided
12 ounces prepared pizza dough
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
Instructions
Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare Chicken: In a mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken with 1 teaspoon of taco seasoning. Mix until evenly coated.
Roll Out Dough: Press the pizza dough into a large rectangle that nearly fills the baking sheet.
Layer Ingredients: On one half of the dough, sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Spread the seasoned chicken evenly over the cheese, then top with the remaining cheese.
Fold and Seal: Fold the other half of the dough over the filling. Press the edges to seal—it doesn’t need to be perfect, just secure enough to keep the filling inside.
Season and Slice: Sprinkle the top with 1/2 teaspoon taco seasoning. Use a pizza cutter to slice the filled dough into 1-inch strips.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Cool and Serve: Let the breadsticks cool for about 5 minutes before pulling them apart.
Make Dipping Sauce: Mix the remaining 1 teaspoon of taco seasoning into the sour cream. Serve alongside as a creamy dip.
Notes
Let the pizza dough come to room temperature for easier rolling. Rotisserie chicken works great for quick prep. Use a pizza cutter for clean slices.
