Description

Cheesy Chicken Fritters are crispy on the outside, cheesy and tender inside, and quick to make. Perfect for weeknight dinners, snacks, or party appetizers—these fritters are a family favorite you’ll want to make again and again!

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped green onions

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

2 eggs, beaten

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

Olive oil, for frying

Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix the ingredients: Combine shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, green onions, breadcrumbs, eggs, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well.
  2. Shape the patties: Scoop a spoonful of the mixture and form it into a small, even patty.
  3. Cook the fritters: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry patties for 3–4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Repeat and finish: Cook the remaining patties, adding more oil as needed.
  5. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Chill the mixture for 15–20 minutes before shaping for easier handling.

Swap in mozzarella, Monterey Jack, or pepper jack for a different flavor.

Add a pinch of cayenne or paprika for a mild kick.

To make ahead, form patties and refrigerate up to 24 hours before cooking.
