Cheesy Chicken Fritters are crispy on the outside, cheesy and tender inside, and quick to make. Perfect for weeknight dinners, snacks, or party appetizers—these fritters are a family favorite you’ll want to make again and again!
Ingredients
2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
Olive oil, for frying
Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Mix the ingredients: Combine shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, green onions, breadcrumbs, eggs, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well.
- Shape the patties: Scoop a spoonful of the mixture and form it into a small, even patty.
- Cook the fritters: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry patties for 3–4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.
- Repeat and finish: Cook the remaining patties, adding more oil as needed.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
Chill the mixture for 15–20 minutes before shaping for easier handling.
Swap in mozzarella, Monterey Jack, or pepper jack for a different flavor.
Add a pinch of cayenne or paprika for a mild kick.
To make ahead, form patties and refrigerate up to 24 hours before cooking.
