Description

This Black Cherry Layered Pretzel Dessert blends a crunchy, buttery pretzel crust with a smooth whipped topping and bold black cherry gelatin for a dessert that’s as beautiful as it is delicious. Perfect for parties, potlucks, or family dinners.

  • 1 1/2 cups cola-flavored carbonated beverage (12 oz. can)

  • 1 1/4 cups crushed pretzels

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 2 (3 oz.) packages black cherry flavored gelatin

  • 1 (11.75 oz.) jar Smucker’s® Black Cherry Flavored Topping

  • 2 1/4 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed (divided)


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Pour cola into a microwave-safe bowl and set aside.

  • Combine crushed pretzels, sugar, and melted butter. Press into an 8×8-inch baking pan. Bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly toasted. Cool completely.

  • Microwave cola on HIGH for 2 minutes or until boiling. Stir into gelatin until fully dissolved and foam disappears. Add black cherry topping. Chill 10–15 minutes until slightly thickened.

  • Mix 1 1/4 cups whipped topping with 1/2 cup gelatin mixture. Spread over cooled crust. Chill 10 minutes.

  • Gently spoon remaining gelatin mixture over the creamy layer. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm.

  • Top with remaining whipped topping before serving.

Notes

  • Use cherry cola for a more intense flavor.

  • Swap gelatin flavors for variety—raspberry or strawberry work well.
