Description

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • ¾ cup light brown sugar, packed

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 large eggs, room temperature

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • ½ cup red and blue candy-coated chocolates

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 tsp half and half (or milk)

  • Red and blue sprinkles (for decorating)


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.

  • In a large bowl, beat butter, sugars, and vanilla until fluffy.

  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.

  • Gradually add flour mixture until just combined.

  • Stir in chocolate chips.

  • Line a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper.

  • Press dough evenly into pan.

  • Bake for 10 minutes.

  • Remove and gently press red & blue candies on top.

  • Bake 18 more minutes until golden.

  • Let cool completely.

  • Beat frosting ingredients until smooth.

  • Pipe frosting around edges and add sprinkles.

Notes

  • Let eggs sit at room temperature for easier mixing.

  • Don’t overbake; the center should be soft when done.

  • Chill frosting slightly if it becomes too soft for piping
