Ingredients
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup light brown sugar, packed
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
½ cup red and blue candy-coated chocolates
4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
1 cup powdered sugar
½ tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp half and half (or milk)
Red and blue sprinkles (for decorating)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, beat butter, sugars, and vanilla until fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
Gradually add flour mixture until just combined.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Line a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper.
Press dough evenly into pan.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Remove and gently press red & blue candies on top.
Bake 18 more minutes until golden.
Let cool completely.
Beat frosting ingredients until smooth.
Pipe frosting around edges and add sprinkles.
Notes
Let eggs sit at room temperature for easier mixing.
Don’t overbake; the center should be soft when done.
Chill frosting slightly if it becomes too soft for piping
